It is aimed to be re-opened from 1-10-2009 and to be undertaken for long term work.
Project description/
Establishing Area - Dhammikaryon (Dwarra) Monstery, No-4 Ward, Bogalay
Township
Name of School - Sunday School
Number of Students - Maximum number of students – 500 is fixed only primary students are given priority. It can be enrolled irrespective of male and female.
Starting Day - Saturday 8th March
Teaching Subject - Bravo Starter, Grammar in use, Cultural Text
Strength of teacher - Two leading monks, two lady-teachers (Yangon), 30 local volunteers
School opening day - Every Sunday (for primary student)
Every Saturday and Sunday (for Graduate and undergraduates)
Teaching period - 6:30 a.m to 5:30 pm (every Saturday and Sunday)
Requirements - Stationary for children, Teaching aids (Copier, Computer, Generator, bench, text books)
Objectives:
(1) Nargis area children are to be free from fear by religious spirit.
(2) To be a helping hand when the authority concerned and social servants build declining educational aim in time.
(3) For increasing more clever and educated children in the future state building work.
To be free from silly, stupid person (Foundation of peaceful and developed state)
(4) To take responsibility for the benefit of one’s ward and religious in accordance with advanced system and age.
(5) To get social service merit by supporting for lessening of education deficiency to the extent of one’s ability on humanitarianism.
Educational Deficiency means
Students losing educational aim due to Nargis cyclone bad effect and those not able to continue education for not having educational expense due to poverty.
Supporting Programmes
There are poor parents in urban wards (especially Myoma Wards – 6, 2 and 7). Those parents shall have school going-age children. Educational expenses are to be given up to the primary four Grade Students with the help of authority concerned as first step. But the parents willing to get the support shall send their children to Sunday School every Sunday sponsored by monks. As there are poor parents of the Sunday School primary students, it is undertaken for the firm education of those students in future.
Supporting programme for affiliated school (exception)
There shall be desire for proliferation of Sunday Schools among urban monasteries and village monasteries by getting English teachers, text book, Stationery, Sunday School uniforms.
Affiliated School permit shall be given after general annual meeting. Necessary requirements shall be supported to affiliated schools.
Future extra educational undertakings of Sunday School
- Teaching the youths of wards (future gems of state) Buddhistic cultural lessons on every Sunday and Saturday.
- Conducting Summer Buddhistic Cultural Course under that School leadership
- Conducting practical applied Abbhidhomma Course for adults
- Arranging literature talk occasionally
- Conducting insight meditation course for children/ adult

Project sustainability (how will the project continue on its own after the grant ends)/
The project shall sustain for long term work, depending on the earnest participation of local volunteers, guidance of religious leader, educational supporting spirit of students’ parents and social-education donation money from the respective donor association.
